Mid 80's band The Internationalists bought reggea rock to Harlow. Colin Wilkes, guitar and vocals, was joined by Andy McDonald on bass, Isaac Prevost on drums, Richard Holgarth on guitar/keyboards, Mac on bass, Chris Fallon on dub and mix, Greg Camburn on saxaphone, Ruth Lomond on flute and Jenny Clements on tenor horn. Ben Evans replaced Richard on guitar and Billy Dawkins joined on percussion. Eventually Richard Cambell replaced Ben Evans, Alien replaced Jenny (on trombone) and Neil Tye joined on percussion. They won the 1987 Rock Contest.

Mid to late 60's psychedelic rock band with Roy Hoather on drums, Curt Creswell on guitar, Norman Watt-Roy on bass and Garth Watt-Roy on guitar. A single, "Let's Live For Today" reached number 10 in the charts in 1967.

Roy and Curt had already been in the charts with their previous band The Naturals.

Norman went on to play with, amongst others, Dr Feelgood, Ian Dury and the Blockheads and Wilko Johnson.

The Naturals. The first band from Harlow to chart.

Curt Creswell, guitar, Roy Hoather, drums, Doug Ellis, guitar, Rikki Potter, vocals, Bob O'Neale, vocals and Mike Wakelin on guitar became the first Harlow band to chart.

”I Should Have Known Better” , written by The Beatles, charted at number 24 in the summer of 1964.

It also charted in the USA at around 63 in the same year.

The Newtown Pioneers are: Charlie Caine on drums, Sean Duffy on bass, Linden Taylor on guitar and synths and Andy Kadweel on guitar and vocals.

Formed after The Sods disbanded the Ol' Rene's were Kevin Jones, vocals, Martin Brown, guitar, Scott Barker, bass and Mickey Howard on drums.

The Phantom Pharoahs were an early 80's Rockabilly band set up by Glenn Daeche.

The line-up was Glenn on guitar and vocals, Andy Cleall on guitar, Carl Sheeran on bass, and Mark Sheeran on drums.

They recorded a demo in 1984. They entered the 1983 Rock Contest and reached the final.

Formed in 1985 from the ashes of The Phantom Pharoahs. Another Glenn Rockabilly band. The first line-up was Glenn on guitar and vocals, Carl Sheeran on double bass and Nick Becker on drums. They were soon joined by Ben Evans on guitar and Jeff Horsey replaced Carl on bass. This line-up recorded the album Blue Egypt.

Lee Brown then replaced Jeff on bass before the went back to a 3-piece of Glenn, Tony Bennett, drums and Mac on bass.

Mid 90's Punkabilly band comprising of Krissi Phillipson on drums, Chas on bass and Jim Paton and Stu on guitars and vocals.

Shambolic at times but extremely good fun band.

LINE UP ALEX FLEMING, VOCALS/MAC, BASS/TONY BENNETT, DRUMS/TRUDI HIBBERT, VOCALS/DAVE BYGRAVE, GUITAR

The Pressure started as a three piece with Colin Wilkes on guitar and vocals, Andy McDonald on bass and Isaac Prevost on drums.

They quickly established themselves with some blistering live performances and were soon joined by Richard Holgarth on guitar.

Once Richard joined it was a matter of time before they transformed into The Internationalists.

The Pressure Stops were part of the Stortbeat punk scene. They were Steve Coulson on vocals, Lee Adams on guitar, Clive Richardson on drums and Roy Phillips on drums.

A second line-up added Robbie Tucker on second guitar.

The Rabbits were a legendary band that came out of the punk and Storbeat scenes. They added a certain freeform aspect to their music and just went where it took them, whether it be rock or jazz or poetry supplied by legendary front man Roger Milton.

The Rabbits were Dec Baron on bass, Roger Milton on poetry and vocals, Lorcan Devine on guitar and Steve Horton on keyboards. They used a host of drummers. Mickey Howard and Terry Hardy were used a lot. Carl Madjitey sang on the legendary Kitchen Parties ep.

The Rage were Kevin Jones on vocals, Chris Wood on bass, Shane Roe on guitar, Steve Horton on keyboards and Ralph Collins on drums.

The Rage were one of the biggest local punk bands around. They eventually had to change their name as another band called The Rage hit the charts. They were to become The Sods.

The Seminals feature a host of musicians from other Harlow bands. Formed in 2005 they are, Shaun Clark, guitar, Dave Walsh, guitar, Brandon Read, vocals, Rory Clark, bass and Joe Lazarus on drums.

They have built up a loyal local following and are a great live band.

The biggest and best Harlow punk band. Kick started it for all that followed. Massive locally and playing to packed houses everywhere they were to influence Steve Drewett to form The Newtown Neurotics. This lot are the Daddies.

Kevin Jones, vocals, Chris Wood, bass, Shane Roe, guitar, Steve Horton, keyboards and Mickey Howard on drums completed the first line-up. Ralph Collins took over drum duties for the second line-up.
